Sniffle Smashing Chicken Soup

In the famous words of Ned Stark - "Winter is coming". Naturally this means that so is a nasty bout of colds and coughing sneezing students suffering away in their un-insulated houses.

So whats a girl to do in these upsetting circumstances? Make soup. Chicken soup to be precise. This is a nice easy one that can be prepared even when your body is teaming with nasty viruses to the point where you can hardly stand.

4 cups chicken stock (I buy a liter box if I cant be bothered making it myself)
small knob of ginger, grated or smooshed into a paste-y mess
2 cloves of garlic, mushed or finely sliced
1/4 cup shredded cabbage
1 small carrot and any other vegetables you can be bothered finding
pepper
pinch of chili powder
1 packet of instant noodles (or rice noodles if you are gluten intolerant)
 1/2 cup cooked chicken
handful of bean sprouts

Chuck your stock, ginger mush, and garlic in a pot and bring to a boil. Grab a potato peeler and use it to make super thin, long slices of carrot. Slice other veggies to about the same size.
When your stock mix starts boiling add the rest of the ingredients, except the sprouts. Cook until the veg is just cooked, about 3-5 minutes.

Serve with bean sprouts on top. Add sliced green onion and fresh coriander for extra flavour.
