Kale, the craze continues

If you read any foody anything on the internet you have probably heard of kale. It's a member of the cabbage family and chock full of vitamins and calcium. It even contains anti cancer stuff according to Wikipedia.

Personally I haven't been adventurous enough to try it in a smoothie but I have totally fallen in love with kale chips. Mostly because they are chips that I don't feel guilty about and they are super easy.

2-3 stalks of kale
pinch of salt
few grinds of pepper
paprika
drizzle of olive oil

Tear up your kale into bite sized bits, removing the main stalk bit. Chuck a tiny drizzle of olive oil over it and toss. Add spices and toss again. Spread over a tray so they don't overlap.

Pop in the oven at 160 . Your chips should start getting crispy after about 5 minutes and are ready when they start sounding like dry autumn leaves if you shake the tray. In my wee toaster oven this takes about 8 minutes if I put them near the bottom.

You might have to experiment a bit to get the cooking right as different ovens could be way faster or slower.

If you can think of any other snazzy flavors I can try on these leave a comment :)

Have a beautiful day!
